Western Pennsylvania’s
Montour School District had an annual energy budget of $650,000
but needed to reduce costs by 16 percent. Lighting the school system’s
five gymnasiums totaling 37,000 square feet put a strain on that
budget.
Using Venture
Lighting’s 320 watt Uni-Form® pulse start lamps and ballasts, Montour will save over $1 million over a
10-year span.
The gyms had a combined total of 123 lamps. Previously, these facilities
used a combination of 400 watt probe start metal halide and mercury
vapor lamps.
Energy was reduced
through the use of an occupancy sensor-based, bi-level control lighting
system installed in all five gyms. Venture’s pulse start lamps
exceeded these requirements.
