The Challenge:
Energy savings - involving dimming, with quality white light

The Solution:
450 watt e-Lamp™ Uni-Form® pulse start metal halide systems with Opti-Wave™ electronic ballasts in a constant lumen situation

Daylight harvesting is an example of a lighting strategy designed to lower ever-growing aggregated energy bills for big-box retailers. In addition, consumers prefer shopping in stores that use natural light to bathe aisles and render colors accurately.

Hybrid lighting designs allow bright sunlight to provide up to 100 percent of illumination during midday, when energy costs are highest. Continuously dimmable lighting (100% down to 50% power) saves energy under these conditions. When clouds roll in or nighttime falls, power can be increased continuously to maintain nearly constant light levels.

The type of lamp incorporated with daylight harvesting is critical. The lamp’s light quality should blend well with natural light and provide good color rendering and contrast. Venture Lighting’s Uni-Form® pulse start metal halide e-Lamp™ produces both a bright white light that blends with natural light and a consistent color quality that accurately renders colors of products, company logos, signs and other objects. The       e-Lamps combine with Opti-Wave™ high frequency electronic ballasts to create dimmable metal halide lighting that capitalizes on daylight harvesting.

e-Lamp™ Benefits

• 450W e-Lamp system has highest mean system lumens per watt (99 LPW)

• Superior life and lumen maintenance! 20,000+ hours; 46,000 initial lumens; 39,000 mean lumens

• Continuous dimming: 100% down to 50% of rated lamp power

• Improved ballast efficiency: 95% Compared to 88% for CWA

• Dimming built in - Control interface for continuous dimming, sensor dimming or daylight harvesting controls

• Faster hot restart and warm-up: 5 times faster than traditional metal halide
