stores, such as discount warehouses, provide aisle after aisle of
diversified low cost, low margin, high volume food and general merchandise
products. Consumers looking to get the most for their money are
frequent shoppers at these membership-oriented establishments.
Many of these
retail stores are equipped with outdated 400 watt metal halide technology.
One store chain’s energy systems and utilities manager concluded
that a retrofit was needed, and sought to attain energy savings,
brighter light and good color rendering.
After analyzing
current energy costs, the manager opted for Venture’s MP 350W/V
open-rated Uni-Form® pulse start system with energy-saving Opti-Wave™
ballasts. These high lumen output lamps replaced standard 400 watt
lamps and offered the same lumen output, while saving 75 watts per
lamp luminaire.
